Ingredients

600 grams tofu (extra firm)

3 tbsp cornstarch

For the Sauce

1 cup orange juice

1 tsp orange zest

3 garlic cloves (minced)

1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)

3 tbsp gluten free soy sauce (or tamari)

3 tbsp sweetener of choice (I used dates syrup)

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1 - 2 tsp chili flakes

1 ½ tbsp cornstarch

¼ cup water

For the Serving

4 cups cooked rice
s
2 tbsp sesame seeds
f
handful fresh cilantro
Directions

Pat tofu dry and tear it into bite-size pieces. add them to a bowl along with 3 tbsp of cornstarch and toss the tofu around so it’s fully coated.

Place tofu in the air fryer, trying to space out the pieces as much as possible. Air fry at 200°c / 390°f for 15-20 minutes, or until crispy.

For the Sauce

Meanwhile, to a bowl add orange juice, zest, garlic, fresh ginger, soy sauce, sweetener, rice vinegar, sesame oil and chili flakes. Mix well.In a small bowl whisk together cornstarch and water to make the cornstarch slurry.

Heat up a large pan / wok over medium heat and pour in the sauce. Once it simmers, add the cornstarch slurry and mix well. Lower the heat to medium low.

Once tofu is crispy, add it to the pan with the sauce, mix, and cook for additional 2-3 minutes.

For the Serving

Serve immediately with cooked rice. Top with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro. Enjoy!
