In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Dust your surface with flour. Roll out the dough to about ½-inch thick. Use a round cutter or glass to cut out circles. You can also shape them rustic-style with your hands.

Heat canola oil in a deep pan (about 350°F / 175°C). Fry the donuts in batches, about 2-3 minutes and flipping them occasionally until golden brown on all sides. Place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
